Overview:

A Sales Representative’s primary function is to develop new sales, grow existing sales, and attract new clients in their designated territory. The successful sales representative will source new sales opportunities and close sales to achieve quotas. The successful sales representative will play a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with clients, generating leads, qualifying prospects, and managing sales of products and services. As sales representatives, they will also research sales competition in their area and create reports to show the market share of representative brands.

Job functions:

  • Devise effective territory sales and marketing strategies
  • Analyze data to find the most efficient sales methods
  • Meet with customers to address concerns and provide solutions
  • Discover sales opportunities through consumer research
  • Present products and services to prospective customers
  • Participate in industry or promotional events (e.g. trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships
  • Conduct training in sales techniques and company product attributes
  • Assess sales performance according to KPIs
  • Monitor competition within assigned region
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Sales Director
  • “Get the sale” using various customer sales methods (door-to-door, cold calling, presentations, etc)
  • Forecast sales, develop “out of the box” sales strategies/models, and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Evaluate customer’s skills, needs and build productive long-lasting relationships.

  • Research accounts and generates or follow through sales leads
  • Attend meetings, sales events, and training via web or in office to keep abreast of the latest developments
